They strive to teach kids how to properly conduct themselves in the liturgy while giving each one an active role through various tasks to make the liturgy a personal experience. The goal is for these personal experiences to translate into a deep-rooted love for the church which will lead to an intentional and chosen sacramental life outside of Sundays to be carried on for generations to come.

Girls with Timbrels & Praises

Girls with Timbrels & Praises (GTP) is a service focused on empowering and impassioning young women to love the church and her liturgical services and gain the confidence to elevate their voices as a humble offering to God.

Ever since ancient times, women have always helped lead praise. As referenced in the First Canticle during Midnight Praises, "Then Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took the timbrel in her hand, and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with praises." Just as these women lifted up their voices in praise, we aim to provide a space where the same is possible now.

Our Goals:

  • To encourage both women and young girls to engage wholeheartedly in liturgical services

  • To know the church is their home and to strengthen a relationship with God through song and praise by teaching them to raise their hearts to God

  • To foster a community and sisterhood that make up a strong group of female voices among the congregation

  • To learn the hymns of our church and gain the ability to pray through them confidently

  • To learn the richness of the history of our church, looking to emulate the saintly lives of the mothers of the church with a heart of service and praise

  • To create a lasting impact on future generations of girls in our church
